As a widow, I have increasingly experienced the love and provision of Jesus Christ as I trust Him in and through all things. There is peace, hope, and joy within and beyond this season. I invite you to join me on this adventure and journey through my blog stories, posts, and more. I hope that you will be encouraged in some way.

May God Bless You!

  3. Hi Pati…
I don’t even know where to begin… as I’m celebrating my 9th year of my marriage with Tim today, you are standing on your own to your third chapter… not all alone, I know, as you have God, first and foremost, and many family and friends who love you and support you. Your words are so raw, honest snd beautiful. Your words makes me want to be better, as a wife, as a family member, as a friend, and as a leader. How is it, that as you are going through this valley, that you are still encouraging all of us… Praise God for keeping you close and strong in Him❤️ I pray that you FEEL His love deeply when you feel alone, doubt, fear, or joy❣️ Thank you for your love and strengths to encourage us all ❤️❤️❤️

  5. Your wise words and writings are a gift. I love receiving your next closures and next chapters. I have been supporting my neighbor of 40 years, who lost her sister a few weeks ago in home hospice with all brother/sister, adult children present for her passing. This was my neighbors 5th in home hospice. Mother-Father-Aunt-Uncle, now sister. The grief is palpable. She chose a quote from Deitrich Bonhoeffer to read yesterday at the memorial. ”
“There is nothing that can replace the absence of someone dear to us, and one should not even attempt to do so. One must simply hold out and endure it. At first that sounds very hard, but at the same time it is also a great comfort. For to the extent the emptiness truly remains unfilled one remains connected to the other person through it. It is wrong to say that God fills the emptiness. God in no way fills it but much more leaves it precisely unfilled and thus helps us preserve — even in pain — the authentic relationship. Further more, the more beautiful and full the remembrances, the more difficult the separation. But gratitude transforms the torment of memory into silent joy. One bears what was lovely in the past not as a thorn but as a precious gift deep within, a hidden treasure of which one can always be certain.”

    ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Pati, you help us put into words the ‘silent Joy’ and share “the lovely gift” and hidden treasure of Ken and your relationship, and connection to the source…Jesus our Lord and Savoir. Your words today were meant for me to read. Love and Care Christy
